Eyelid Aesthetic Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Eye contact is undoubtedly one of the most important elements in human relations. The area around the eyes is the area where signs of aging and various deteriorations are seen the earliest in the face area. In this case, lost and tired eyes appear.
Blepharoplasty is a set of surgical procedures for the removal of sagging skin and excess adipose tissue on the lower and upper lids and for stretching the eye tissues.
Eyelid Aesthetic Surgery (Blepharoplasty) is planned individually by your ophthalmologist and the procedures to be performed are determined according to the needs of our patient.
With eyelid aesthetic surgery, the excess skin on the eyelids is removed, the disorders that cause bagging in the lower eyelid are corrected, and the deepened tear pit under the lower lid, which gives the face a tired expression, is corrected. The aim is to achieve a younger, rested, and natural look.
The area around the eyes is one of the areas where the effects of aging are most evident. We can be exposed to physical wear and tear at younger ages due to many reasons such as intense work tempo and changes in food. Low eyelids, bags under the eyes, wrinkles around the eyes, and crow's feet can be counted among the deformations.
Eyelid aesthetics is a common area of interest for plastic surgeons and eye surgeons. Each patient's needs and expectations are different. For this reason, it is necessary to plan the surgery according to the person and share it with the patients during the interview.
We asked your Questions to Prof. Dr. Ahmet Satıcı
Question: What is the reason for droopy eyelid?
Answer: During the aging process, there is loosening and sagging of the ligaments holding the eyelid skin. This relaxation is also valid for the entire face area and sagging occurs in the middle face. Mid-face sagging causes drooping of the lower eyelid and the formation of under-eye bags.
Question: Do you need to stay in the hospital?
Answer: I prefer local anesthesia in patients who will have eyelid surgery. I recommend that patients receiving general anesthesia stay overnight. Patients who have been operated under the local anesthesia can go home one or two hours after the operation.
Question: How long does the surgery take?
Answer: The duration of the operation varies between 45 and 120 minutes, depending on the procedure to be performed.
Question: Will there be swelling and bruising on the eyelids? How soon will it be fixed?
Answer: Postoperative swelling and bruising on the eyelids are expected findings. I recommend cold application and pain relief when needed. I want you to lie down with your head elevated for a few days and avoid activities that require exertion for up to 4 weeks.
Although it varies according to the person, swelling and bruises pass within a week and the result of the surgery begins to become visible.
Question: Will there be any surgery scars?
Answer: Since the incisions will be made through the natural folds of the eyelids, there are no obvious scars.
NON-SURGERY EYELID SURGERY
What is Eyelid Treatment with Non-Surgical Plasma Energy?
This treatment is applied around the eyes, especially since it does not harm the surrounding tissues. It is used to remove sagging, baggy, and wrinkles on the eyelid. It is also used to remove warts, moles, blemishes, and scars around the eyes.
How is Non-Surgical Plasma Plexr method being performed?
The skin is numbed using local anesthetic creams. No operating environment is required. The drugs given after the application must be used regularly. In the first week, there is crusting in the area where the laser is applied. These crusts fall off in 7-10 days, and pink healthy skin comes out from underneath. This area must be covered with foundation or concealer sunscreens and protected from the sun.
Who is Suitable for Non-Surgical Eye-Lid Operation Blepharoplasty?
It is suitable for people who have signs of aging on the eyelids or the entire face, do not want to have surgery, do not want to stay away from social life, and are not suitable for surgery who may have bleeding problems. It can also be used in the younger age group.
Who is not suitable for Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty?
It is not applicable to those with chronic skin disease and autoimmune diseases.
In non-surgical eyelid treatment, there is no need to stay in the hospital, and there is no stitching or bleeding. For this reason, it is heavily preferred by patients and applied safely.
The patient is not exposed to general anesthesia. Only the cream with anesthetic effect is applied to the relevant area and the area is aimed to numb. No incisions are made, no sutures are made. Crusting occurs in the area where the treatment is applied. Between 7-10 days, this crusting also disappears and the skin is renewed.
In this process, the patient should use the medications given by the doctor and protect the application area from sunlight with foundation or sunscreen. In this way, unwanted scars that may occur in the future are prevented and the treatment process is completed.
The treatment is applied between 1-3 sessions depending on the skin structure and problem of the patient.
